Stereo Amplifier Has No Sound
Stereo amplifier has no sound1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the stereo amplifier connector A (14P).
3. Check for voltage between stereo amplifier connector A (14P) terminal A11 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Repair an open in the wire between fuse No. 5 (20A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the stereo amplifier.
4. Check for continuity between stereo amplifier connector A (14P) terminal A10 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the XM receiver and G504. If the wire is OK, repair G504.
5. Disconnect audio unit connector C (26P).
6. Check for continuity between the stereo amplifier connector A (14P) and the audio unit connector C (26P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the stereo amplifier and the audio unit.
7. Substitute a known-good stereo amplifier, then reconnect all connectors and do the speaker test.
Is the sound normal?
YES - Replace the stereo amplifier.
NO - Replace the audio unit.
