DIAGNOSIS
Test-drive the client's vehicle to confirm the complaint. If you hear a slapping or tapping noise at the front of the moonroof opening with the moon roof closed, open the sunshade and place your hand on the wind deflector. If the noise stops, go to the REPAIR PROCEDURE. If the noise does not go away, refer to the applicable service manual for more information.
REPAIR PROCEDURE A
1. Open the moonroof fully to allow the wind deflector to rise to its full height.
2. Cut three 20 mm x 30 mm strips of the wool felt.
3. Apply the wool felt:
^ Clean the moonroof frame with isopropyl alcohol where you will place the wool felt.
^ Attach the first piece of felt in the middle of the horizontal part of the moonroof frame, about 1 mm away from the vertical part of the frame.
^ Attach the remaining two pieces of felt 200 mm on either side of the middle piece of wool felt.
4. Test-drive the vehicle to make sure the noise is gone.
