Mainshaft Inspection





1. Inspect the oil passage, gear, and bearing surfaces for wear and damage, then measure the mainshaft at points A, B, C, D, E, and if any part of the mainshaft is less than the service limit, replace it.
Standard:
A Ball bearing surface (transmission housing side): 30.987 - 31.000 mm (1.2200 - 1.2205 inch)
B 6th gear distance collar surface: 32.987 - 33.000 mm (1.2987 - 1.2992 inch)
C 4th/5th gear distance collar surface: 35.987 - 36.000 mm (1.4168 - 1.4173 inch)
D Needle bearing surface: 41.984 - 42.000 mm (1.6529 - 1.6535 inch)
E Ball bearing surface (clutch housing side): 28.002 - 28.015 mm (1.1054 - 1.1030 inch)
F Pilot bearing surface: 19.967 - 19.980 mm (0.7861 - 0.7866 inch)
Service Limit:
A: 30.93 mm (1.218 inch)
B: 32.93 mm (1.296 inch)
C: 35.93 mm (1.415 inch)
D: 41.93 mm (1.651 inch)
E: 27.95 mm (1.100 inch)
F: 19.91 mm (0.784 inch)





2. Inspect the runout by supporting both ends of the mainshaft. Then rotate the mainshaft two complete turns while measuring with a dial gauge. If the runout is more than the service limit, replace the mainshaft.
Standard: 0.02 mm (0.001 inch) max.
Service Limit: 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
