TITLE: Preventing Keyless Remove Error Messages

APPLIES TO: 05 RL

SERVICE TIP:

If you exit a '05 RL from the driver's door with your keyless remote and the ignition switch is turned to ON (II) or ACCESSORY (I), you'll wind up with these error messages as soon as you close the door:
- Multi-information display (MID): KEYLESS REMOTE NOT DETECTED
- Navigation system display screen: No Keyless Access Remote

There are a couple of ways you can prevent these error messages from coming on:
- Make sure the ignition switch is turned to LOCK (0) before you exit the vehicle.

or

- Keep the keyless remote in the vehicle while the ignition switch is turned to ON (II).

or

- Keep the driver's door open while the ignition switch is turned to ON (II).
