How to Set Up AcuraLink Diagnostic Communication

The 05-06 RL and the '07 RDX communicate with the AcuraLink server through the vehicle owner's cell phone. To set up this communication, follow this procedure:

1. Go to www.HandsFreeLink.com, and make sure the cell phone's HandsFreeLink (HFL) profile is compatible with AcuraLink.

2. Make sure the cell phone's calling plan supports both voice and data.

3. Refer to the applicable 0/M, and pair the cell phone to the vehicle's HFL system. When the pairing is complete, the phone should automatically connect to the AcuraLink server.

4. If the AcuraLink message screen doesn't ask you for permission to send data, go to AcuraLink/Messages on the navigation system display screen, and select Connect to the Acura Server.

5. Follow the screen prompts to connect the vehicle's HFL system to the AcuraLink server.
