MIL Comes On With DTC P0135 or P0155

REVISION SUMMARY

*Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, a flat rate time was changed.*

SYMPTOM

The MIL comes on with DTC P0135 [rear air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor (bank 1, sensor 1) heater circuit malfunction] or DTC P0155 [front air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor (bank 2, sensor 1) heater circuit malfunction] is set.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Low battery voltage may cause the PGM-FI software to set these DTCs.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

*Make sure that the battery is fully charged, and update the PCM software.*

DIAGNOSIS

Connect the HDS to the DLC, and check for DTC's in the PGM-FI section. In the freeze data, check the battery voltage.

Is the freeze data battery voltage less than 10.0 volts?

^ YES - Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

^ NO - Continue with normal DTC troubleshooting.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the PGM-FI software using HDS version 1.017.006 or later. To update the PGM-FI software. Refer to service bulletin 01-026, Updating Control Units/Modules.
