AFS Indicator Comes On With DTC B2130

SYMPTOM
The AFS (adaptive front lighting system) indicator comes on with DIG B2130.
PROBABLE CAUSE
A software error in the AFS control unit.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the AFS control unit.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
DIAGNOSIS
Check for AFS and VSA DTCs using the HDS.
NOTE:
AFS DTC information is in the Body Electrical section of the service manual.
^ If AFS DTC B2130 is present, but there are no VSA DTCs, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
^ If both AFS DIG B2130 and VSA DTC 27 are present, disregard this service bulletin and do the troubleshooting in the service manual. Troubleshoot VSA DTC 27 first, then AFS DTC B2130.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect the HDS from the DLC.
3. Adjust the steering column upward.
*4. Remove the driver's dashboard undercover:
^ Refer to page 20-100 in the 2005-07 HL Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keyword DASHBOARD, and select Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal / Installation from the list.
5. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover:
^ Refer to page 20-100 in the service manual, or
^ Online, enter keyword DASHBOARD, and select Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover Removal / Installation from the list.
6. Remove the lower screw (7 mm head) from the driver's side HVAC floor ducting.
7. Pivot the floor ducting counterclockwise to allow more working space.
8. Unplug these connectors (see the appropriate section of the service manual):
^ AFS control unit (40P)
^ EGPS (electronically controlled power steering) control unit (12P)
^ DRL (daytime running lights) control unit (14P)
9. Remove the bolt at the top of the AFS bracket and the screw at the left side of the bracket. Loosen the bolt at the right side of the bracket. (The hole for this bolt is slotted, you do not need to remove it).
10. Remove the control units and bracket by lifting them up together, and sliding them out.
11. Remove the ECPS and DRL control units from the bracket.
12. Attach the ECPS and DRL control units onto the new AFS bracket and control unit.
13. Install all remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.*
14. Do the AFS learning procedure:
^ Refer to page 22-274 of the service manual, or
^ Online, enter keyword FRONT LEARN, and select Adaptive Front Lighting Control Unit Learning Procedure - When the Adaptive Front Lighting Control Unit is Replaced (a brand new adaptive front lighting control unit is installed) from the list.
