Customizing the Power Door Lock System

The '05 RL has a ton of features you can customize for driver comfort and convenience. When it comes to the power door lock system, you can customize it so when you grab the driver's door handle while carrying your keyless access remote, it unlocks just the driver's door or it unlocks all of the doors. You can also customize the system so when you're using your remote, it unlocks just the driver's door or all of the doors.

Grabbing the Driver's Door Handle While Carrying the Keyless Access Remote

1. With the ignition switch set to ON (II), press the INFO (Up Arrow or Down Arrow) buttons on the right side of the steering wheel for more than 3 seconds, then release them.

2. From the CUSTOMIZE ENTRY screen on the MID, press the INFO buttons to select CHG SETTING, and press the SEL/RESET button.

3. Press the INFO buttons to select KEYLESS ACCESS SETUP, and press the SEL/RESET button.

4. Press the INFO buttons to select DOOR UNLOCK MODE, and press the SEL/RESET button.

5. Press the INFO buttons to select either DRIVER DOOR ONLY or ALL DOORS, then press the SEL/RESET button to enter your selection. You'll see a confirmation screen for 2 seconds, then you'll see the CUSTOMIZE ENTRY screen again.

Using the Keyless Access Remote

1. With the ignition switch set to ON (II), press the INFO (Up Arrow or Down Arrow) buttons on the right side of the steering wheel for more than 3 seconds, then release them.

2. From the CUSTOMIZE ENTRY screen on the MID, press the INFO buttons to select CHG SETTING, and press the SEL/RESET button.

3. Press the INFO buttons to select DOOR/WINDOW SETUP, and press the SEL/RESET button.

4. Press the INFO buttons to select DOOR LOCK MODE, and press the SEL/RESET button.

5. Press the INFO buttons to select either DRIVER DOOR or ALL DOORS, then press the SEL/RESET button to enter your selection. You'll see a confirmation screen for 2 seconds, then you'll see the CUSTOMIZE ENTRY screen again.
