Audio System Information Does Not Display on the Display Panel (Without Navigation)
Audio system information does not display on the display panel (without navigation) or audio-HVAC subdisplay unit (with navigation). The HVAC controls may also be affected.1. Check for DTCs in the display module control unit.
Are there any DTCs?
YES - Troubleshoot the DTCs.
NO - Go to step 2.
2. Disconnect display panel control unit connector A (14P).
3. Disconnect audio unit connector C (26P).
4. Check for continuity between audio unit connector C (26P) terminals and display panel control unit connector A (14P) terminals according to the chart.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Repair an open in the wire between the audio unit and the display panel control unit.
5. Check for continuity between audio unit connector C (26P) terminals in the table and body ground. Then check for continuity between the terminals in the table and audio connector C (26P) No. 12 terminal (the harness shield).
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair a short in the wire between the audio unit and the display module control unit, or replace the appropriate shielded harness.
NO -
- Without navigation: Go to step 6.
- With navigation: Go to step 9.
6. Substitute a known-good display panel.
7. Reconnect all connectors.
8. Check the display.
Does the display operate properly?
YES - Replace the display panel control unit.
NO - Replace the audio unit.
9. Check the connections at the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector (10P) and the display panel control unit connector E (22P).
Are the connectors and terminals connected properly?
YES - Go to step 10.
NO - Repair the connection and recheck.
10. Disconnect the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector (10P).
11. Disconnect the display panel control unit connector E (22P).
12. Check for continuity between the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector (10P) and the display panel control unit connector E (22P) terminals for each wire listed in the chart.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 13.
NO - Repair an open in the wire between the display panel control unit and the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit
13. Check for continuity between each audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector (10P) terminal and body ground according to the table. Then check for continuity between the terminals in the table and audio connector C (26P) No. 12 terminal (the harness shield).
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair the short to ground in the wire between the display panel control unit and the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit, or replace the appropriate shielded harness.
NO - Go to step 14.
14. Substitute a known-good audio-HVAC subdisplay unit and recheck.
Does the subdisplay work properly?
YES - Replace the original audio-HVAC subdisplay unit.
NO - Substitute a known-good display panel control unit and retest. If the problem is gone, replace the original display panel control unit.
