SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the front seat, dashboard, and related parts.
- Put on a pair of clean cotton gloves so as not to put any finger marks on sueded surfaces of the panels during removal/installation.
1. Detach the clips by pulling the center console panel (A) up. Disconnect the seat heater switch connectors, or AVS switch connectors (B), accessory socket connector (C), and accessory power socket light connector (D). Detach the harness clip (E).
2. Remove the center console trim (A).
1. Open the console armrest.
2. Open the beverage holder lid (B), pull the front portion of the trim up by hand to detach the clips (C) and hooks (D), then remove it.
3. Pull the beverage holder (A) up by hand to detach the clips (B,C), then remove it.
4. Remove the accessory trim (A).
1. Remove the console box mat (B).
2. Remove the screws and release the hooks (C), then remove the trim.
3. Disconnect the rear accessory power socket connector (D) and the auxiliary jack connector (E).
5. Detach the clips by pulling the driver's front console cover (A) and passenger's front console cover (B) out, and pull them backward to release their pins (C) from the heater unit, then remove them.
6. Remove the center console (A).
1. Disconnect the subharness connector (B), and detach it from the vent duct.
2. Remove the bolts (C, D).
3. Pull out the console backward, then remove it.
NOTE: Take care not to deform the rear vent duct (E) while removing and storing the console.
7. Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
- When installing the console mounting bolts, first install the front bolts in the bottom of the center console trim.
- After installing the front console covers, make sure the front pins of the covers are installed securely by moving the front edge of the panels to the outside.
