Front Seat

Front Seat Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- DTC codes will set if the ignition is turned ON (II) with the seats removed.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the audio presets.
2. Tilt the steering wheel all the way up, and telescope it all the way in.




3. For '04 model: Slide the seat all the way forward, and remove the seat track end covers from the back of the seat tracks: right outer cover (A), center end cover (B) and left outer cover (C).




4. For '05-06 models passenger's: Detach the front seat belt latch plate (A).
1. Pull out the recline cover cap (B) to release the hooks (C), and remove the cap by pulling it up.
2. Push the top of the lock (D) in to detach the latch plate from the lower anchor (E).




5. For '05-06 models driver's: Slide the seat all the way forward, and remove the right outer cover (A) and the left inner cover (B) from the back of the seat tracks.







6. For '05-06 models passenger's: Slide the seat all the way forward, detach the clips, and remove the right outer cover (A) and the left inner cover (B) from the back of the seat tracks.
7. Slide the seat to the rear, about halfway so you can access the seat mounting bolts. If equipped with a 10-way power seat, fully raise the seat.
8. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before removing the seat.




9. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A).







10. For '04 model: Lift up the front seat, then detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the power seat harness connector (B), the side airbag connector (C) and the OPDS unit connector (D) on the 4-way power seat.







11. For '05-06 models: Lift up the front seat, then detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the power seat harness connector (B), the seat position sensor subharness connector (C) on the 10-way power seat, the weight sensor unit connector (D) on the 4-way power seat the side airbag connector (E), and the OPDS unit connector (F) on the 4-way power seat.
12. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.







13. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply liquid thread lock to the seat mounting bolts before reinstallation.
- Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat (A) all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it forward and tighten (3) and (4).
- '05-06 models passenger's: Before attaching the front seat belt lower anchor (B), make sure there are no twists or kinks in the belts. Insent the latch plate (C) into the lower anchor, and be sure the lower anchor is locked securely.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten them to specification with a torque wrench.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then enter the audio presets.
- Set the clock.
