Oil Pan Installation

Oil Pan Installation
Special Tools Required
Engine hanger plate EQS00BRSX0

1. Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.
2. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
3. Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08717-0004, 08718-0001, 08718-0002, 08718-0003, or 08718-0009, evenly to the engine block mating surface of the lower block.

NOTE: Do not install components if too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket (for P/N 08718-0002, no more than 4 minutes, for all others, no more than 5 minutes). Instead, remove the old residue and reapply the liquid gasket.





4. Install the oil pan.
5. Tighten the bolts in two or three steps. In the final step, tighten all bolts. in sequence, to 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 8.7 ft. lbs.) Wipe off all of the excess liquid gasket on the each side of crankshaft pulley and flywheel/drive plate.

NOTE:
^ Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
^ Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pan.





6. Install the stiffener.





7. If the engine is still in the vehicle, do the following steps.
8. Remove the special tool, then tighten the bolt securing the side engine mount bracket.





9. Install the upper bracket, then install the ground cable.
10. Install a new set ring on the end of left side driveshaft, then install the driveshaft. Make sure each ring clicks into place in the differential.
11. Connect the right side suspension lower arm ball joint.
12. Install the right side damper fork.
13. Connect the stabilizer links.
14. Install the splash shield.
15. Lower the hoist.
16. Tighten the front mount bolt, then install the front mount stop.
17. Tighten the rear mount bolt, then install the rear mount stop.
18. M/T model: Loosen the mount bolt, then install the transmission upper mount/bracket assembly, clutch clamp bracket and ground cable.
19. A/T model: Loosen the mount bolt and bracket plate mounting bolts, then install the transmission upper mount/bracket assembly, and ground cable.
20. M/T model: Tighten the transmission upper mount bolt.
21. A/T model: Tighten the transmission upper mount bolt bracket plate mounting bolts, then tighten the transmission upper mount bolt.
22. M/T model: Install the clutch slave cylinder and clutch line bracket mounting bolt.
23. Install the battery base, then install the harness clamp.
24. Install the air cleaner housing.
25. Install the battery. Clean the battery posts and cable terminals with a battery post/cable cleaner, then assemble them and apply grease to prevent corrosion.
26. Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
27. Set the clock.
