Windshield Wipers Chatter

REVISION SUMMARY

This service bulletin has been revised extensively; American Honda recommends that you review the entire bulletin.

SYMPTOM

The windshield wiper blades chatter when used.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The blade pressure against the windshield is weak.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the original windshield wiper blade assemblies with new plastic blade assemblies.

Wiper Blade Set: P/N 76660-SEC-305
(Includes left and right wiper blade assemblies.)

NOTE:
When replacing individual wiper blade assemblies or wiper inserts for the new plastic style blades, use the following part numbers.

Left Wiper Blade: P/N 76620-SEC-305
Left Wiper Insert: P/N 76622-STK-A01
Right Wiper Blade: P/N 76630-SEC-306
Right Wiper Insert: P/N 76632-SEC-305

NOTE:
When replacing original rubber wiper blade parts, use the following part numbers.

Left Wiper Blade: P/N 76620-SEA-G11
Left Wiper Insert: P/N 76622-SEA-J11
Right Wiper Blade: P/N 76630-SEC-A11
Right Wiper Insert: P/N 76632-SEC-A11

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Pull up the wiper arms from the windshield.





2. Press and hold the lock tab, then slide the blade assembly toward the lock tab until it releases from the wiper arms.

3. Install the new wiper blade assemblies.
