XM(R) Satellite Radio and Audio Accessories Play at the Same Time

SYMPTOM

The XM Satellite Radio and an audio accessory (Acura MusicLink(TM), accessory cassette player, accessory CD changer, or multi-media player) play at the same time.

PROBABLE CAUSE

There is a faulty XM receiver.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the XM receiver.

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

DIAGNOSIS

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.

2. With the audio unit on, select XM Satellite Radio and wait for sound from the speakers.

3. Select an audio accessory (Acura MusicLink, accessory cassette player, accessory CD changer, or multi-media player).

4. Once the audio accessory is playing, turn off the ignition switch.

5. Wait 5 seconds, and then start the engine.

^ If you hear the selected audio accessory and the XM radio playing, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

^ If only the selected accessory audio is playing, this service bulletin does not apply.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Replace the XM receiver.

^ Online, enter Keyword XM Receiver, then select XM Receiver Removal/Installation.
