REVISION SUMMARY

*Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the flat rate time was changed.*

SYMPTOM

The MIL comes on with DTC P0116 (ECT sensor 1 range/performance problem).

PROBABLE CAUSE

The ECM/PCM misinterprets the engine coolant temperature input.

2005-06 MDX - ALL
2005-06 RL - ALL
2005-06 RSX - ALL
2006TL - ALL
2006 TSX - ALL

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Use the HDS to update the ECM/PCM PGM-FI software.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

DIAGNOSIS

Do the normal troubleshooting for DTC P0116 (ECT sensor range/performance problem):

^ Refer to the Fuel and Emissions section of the appropriate service manual or,

^ Online, enter P0116, then select DTC

Troubleshooting: P0116 from the list.

- If you find a problem, make the necessary repair. This bulletin does not apply.

- If you do not find any problems, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the ECM/PCM PGM-FI software with software version 2.005.004 or later. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-026, Updating Control Units/Modules.
