Driver's Seat Squeaks

SYMPTOM
The driver's seat squeaks when the driver moves in it.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The driver's seat bracket rubs against the floor panel.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
*Reposition the seat or insulate the bracket from the floor panel.*

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the seat track end covers:
^ Refer to page 20-99 in the 04-06 TSX Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keyword FRONT SEAT and select Front Seat Removal/Installation.
2. Loosen the four seat anchor bolts.
3. Push the seat forward against the rear anchor bolts and upward against the front anchor bolts, then tighten all four bolts.
4. Sit in the driver's seat, and move around:
^ If the seat still squeaks, go to step 5.
^ If the squeak is gone, go to step 10.
5. Remove the four seat anchor bolts, and tilt the seat backward.
*6. Locate the scratch marks made by the seat frame on both sides of the floor panel (right side is shown)
7. Cut two 15 mm square pieces of carpet from underneath the driver's seat, and use weatherstrip adhesive to glue them over the marks as shown.*
8. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal.
9. Torque the bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb-ft).
10. Reinstall the seat track end covers.
