DTC B1628: RF Unit 2 Not ConnectedDTC B1641: RF Unit 2 Circuit Malfunction
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Select the TROUBLE CODE MENU from the HDS, then enter the SELF CHECK.
3. Do the SELF CHECK.
4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are DTC B1628 and/or B1641 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Go to step 11.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Disconnect the RF unit 2 6P connector.
7. Disconnect the keyless access control unit connector B (24P).
8. Check for continuity between the given RF unit 2 6P connector terminals and keyless access control unit connector B (24P) terminals.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Repair an open in the wire.
9. Check for continuity between body ground and RF unit 2 6P connector terminals No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES - Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Reconnect the RF unit 2 6P connector and the keyless access control unit connector B (24P).
11. Connect the volt meter between RF unit 2 6P connector terminal No. 5 and body ground.
12. Select the FUNCTION TEST MENU from the HDS, and do the RF2RXVC C DRIVING.
Does the voltage change from 0 to about 5 V?
YES - Go to step 13.
NO - Replace the keyless access control unit.
13. Connect the volt meter between RF unit 2 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
14. Select the FUNCTION TEST MENU from the HDS, and do the RF2 TXVCC DRIVING.
Does the voltage change from 0 to about 5 V?
YES - Go to step 15.
NO - Replace the keyless access control unit.
15. Connect the volt meter between RF unit 2 6P connector terminal No. 3 and body ground.
16. Select the FUNCTION TEST MENU from the HDS, and do the RF2 TXD DRIVING.
Does the voltage change from 0 to about 5 V?
YES - Replace the RF unit 2.
NO - Replace the keyless access control unit.
