DTC 44-12

DTC 44-12: SH-AWD Relay Stuck ON

1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
2. Start the engine.
3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 44-12 indicated?

YES - Go to step 4.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. Test the SH-AWD relay.

Is SH-AWD relay OK?

YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Replace the SH-AWD relay.

6. Disconnect SH-AWD control unit connector A (26P).
7. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
8. Measure voltage between SH-AWD control unit connector terminal A3 and body ground.





Is there battery voltage?

YES - Replace the wire harness.

NO - Go to step 9.

9. Disconnect SH-AWD control unit connector B (8P).
10. Measure voltage between SH-AWD control unit connector terminals B1 and B2.





Is there battery voltage?

YES - Repair the wire harness.

NO - Substitute a known-good SH-AWD control unit and recheck.
