Cowl Moulding / Trim: Service and Repair
Cowl Cover ReplacementNOTE:
- Take care not to scratch the cowl cover and body.
- Use a clip remover to remove the hood rear seal clips.
1. Detach the clips (A, B, C), then remove the cowl cover upper trim (D).
2. Disconnect the windshield washer tubes (E).
3. Remove the windshield wiper arms.
4. Remove the rear hood seal (A) then, detach the clips (B, C, D) by carefully pulling the passenger's cowl cover (E) upward, and release the hook (F) on the passenger's cowl cover from the driver's cowl cover (G), then remove the cover by releasing the hooks (H).
5. Remove the rear hood seal (A), then detach the clips (B,C,D) by carefully pulling the driver's cowl cover (E) upward, then remove the cover by releasing the hooks (F).
6. Install the covers in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the washer tubes are connected securely.
- Push the clips into place securely.
