Telescoping Wheel Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Power Telescopic Motor/Position Sensor Replacement
1. Remove the steering column.
2. Remove the power telescopic motor connectors (A) from connector bracket (B).

NOTE: The power tilt motor/position sensor connector is sky blue, and power telescopic motor/position sensor connector is white.





3. Remove the power telescopic motor/position sensor (A) from steering column.

NOTE: Do not let dirt or other foreign materials get inside of the steering column.





4. Install the new power telescopic motor/position sensor (A) and align the matching surface and screw holes.

NOTE:
- Do not weight engagement part.
- If the telescopic motor gear is not properly engage with the telescopic gear, the screw holes can not be aligned with the steering column. In that case, move the telescopic gear (B) with the hex wrench (C) to engage the telescopic motor gear with the telescopic gear.





5. Loosely install the four screws, then tighten the screws (A) first, and tighten the screws (B) to the specified torque.

NOTE: If the screws are tighten forcibly without aligning the screw holes with the steering column, it may cause noise or malfunction.





6. Install the connector bracket and power telescopic motor/position sensor connectors.
7. Install the steering column.
8. Check the telescopic operation is smoothly.
