XM Radio Display Is Blank and No Station Information Is Displayed (USA Models With Navigation)
XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed (USA models with navigation)1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Repair open in the wire between No. 7 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 1.
3. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Repair open in the wire between No. 37 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 2.
4. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 12 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Repair open in the wire between No. 21 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 12.
5. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.
Is there less than 0.1 V?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Repair open in the wire between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) terminal No. 11 and body ground (G604).
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect audio unit connector B (14P), AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P), display panel control unit connector E (22P), and navigation unit connector A (20P).
8. Check for continuity between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) and audio unit connector B (14P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Repair open in the appropriate wire between the audio unit and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).
9. Check for continuity between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) and body ground according to the table. Then check for continuity between the same terminals listed in the table and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) No. 18 terminal (the harness shield).
Is the continuity?
YES - Repair short in the appropriate wire between the audio unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) or replace the appropriate shielded harness.
NO - Substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver), then reconnect all of the connectors and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio unit.
