Front Seat

Front Seat Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program.

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.

1. Tilt the steering wheel all the way up, and telescope it all the way in.




2. Passenger's: Detach the front seat belt latch plate (A).
1. Pull out the recline cover cap (B) to release the hooks (C), and remove the cap by pulling it up.
2. Push the top of the lock (D) in to detach the latch plate from the lower anchor (E).




3. Driver's: Slide the seat all the way forward, and remove the right outer cover (A) and the left inner cover (B) from the back of the seat tracks.







4. Passenger's: Slide the seat all the way forward, detach the clip, and remove the left outer cover (A) and the left inner cover (B) from the back of the seat tracks.
5. Slide the seat to the rear, about halfway so you can access the seat mounting bolts.1 0-way power seat, fully raise the seat.
6. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before removing the seat.




7. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A).







8. Lift up the front seat, then detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the power seat harness connector (B), the side airbag connector (C), and the ODS unit connector (D) on the passenger's 4-way power seat.
9. Remove the head restraint.
10. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.







11. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the front seat mounting bolts before reinstallation.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Tighten the seat mounting bolts by hand first, then tighten them to the specified torque with a torque wrench in the sequence shown. Slide the seat (A) all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it forward and tighten (3) and (4). The driver's seat is shown; the passenger's seat is similar.
- Passenger's: Before attaching the front seat belt lower anchor (B), make sure there are no twists or kinks in the belts. Insert the latch plate (C) into the lower anchor, and be sure the lower anchor is locked securely.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets.
- Set the clock.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
