Audio System Will Not Play a DVD-A

SYMPTOM
The audio system will not play a DVD-A.

PROBABLE CAUSE
The audio unit software did not load properly during manufacturing.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Update the audio system software with the prescribed patch CD.

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

DIAGNOSIS

1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) or ON (II).

2. Turn on the audio unit, press the LOAD button, then insert the demonstration DVD into the audio unit disc slot.

NOTE:
The demonstration DVD (P/N 00X41-STK-VOOO) was delivered with the vehicle and is typically stored in the glove box. If the demonstration DVD is not in the vehicle, borrow a DVD from your sales department.

3. Play the demonstration DVD.

^ If the DVD plays, the vehicle is OK at this time. Return the vehicle to the client.

^ If the upper display shows READ, changes to STOP, and then ejects the DVD, go to the REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) or ON (II).

2. Turn on the audio unit, and insert the patch CD. The patch CD automatically updates the audio unit in about 1 minute. The update finishes when the LED above the disc slot blinks green three times and the CD ejects. The LED then blinks red three times to confirm that the update is complete.

3. To confirm the update, insert the demonstration DVD. The unit should play the DVD and display the song title on the display. If the DVD does not play properly, repeat steps 1 thru 3.
