DTC 85-71

DTC 85-71, 85-78: OPDS/ODS Unit Does Not Initialized

1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and is DTC 85-71, or 85-78 indicated?

YES - Go to step 3.

3. Initialize the OPDS/ODS unit.
4. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 second, and then goes off.

Does the SRS indicator go off?

YES - The system is OK.

NO - Replace the OPDS/ODS unit.
