DTC P0606: Engine Control Module (ECM)/Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Processor MalfunctionGeneral Description
If something is wrong in the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM), and the monitor signal from the digital knock system CPU is not received for a set time, or a signal communication error remains for a set time, the ECM/ PCM detects a malfunction and a DTC is stored.

Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
One of these conditions must be met for at least 5 seconds.
- No signal from the DKS CPU is detected.
- Signal from the DKS CPU is detected to be abnormal.
Driving Pattern
Start the engine, and let it idle for at least 30 seconds, or hold the engine speed to at least 1,000 rpm once.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored in the ECM/PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the MIL
The MIL will be cleared if the malfunction does not recur during three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs.
The MIL, the DTC, and the freeze frame data can be cleared by using the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
