Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair

Yaw Rate-Lateral/Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor Replacement

NOTE:
^ Do not damage or drop the sensor as it is sensitive.
^ Do not use power tools.

1. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF.
2. Remove the center console side panel.
3. Remove the center console panel.
4. Remove the shift lever mounting bolts.

NOTE: Only remove items needed to gain access.

5. Remove the yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor bracket fixing bolts, and then disconnect the sensor connector (A).





6. Pull out the yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor bracket (B) with the yaw rate lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor.
7. Remove the sensor mounting bolts, and then separate the sensor (C) from the bracket.
8. Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
9. Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization. Neutral Position Memorization
10. Do the SH-AWD yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor neutral position memorization procedure.
