Front Carpet Replacement

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program.

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides
- Front door sill trim, both sides
- Kick panel, both sides
- Center console rear section
- Center console panel
- Rear vent duct
- Fuel fill door opener cover
- Driver's dashboard undercover
- Passenger's dashboard undercover
- Steering joint cover




4. Push the knob (A) back to release the hook (B) then pull up the accelerator pedal (C).




5. Detach the clips, then remove the footrest (A).




6. Disconnect the antenna lead (A), the side curtain airbag subharness connector (B), and the parking brake switch (C). Detach the harness clips (D).




7. Remove the bolts securing the select lever bracket (A).




8. Release the clips (A, B) from the front floor carpet (C).
9. Release the hooks (D) with a flat-tip screwdriver by pushing the screwdriver toward the door, then lift upwards. Pull the Velcro fastener (E) out, then remove the carpet.
10. Instal the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the seat harnesses and antenna lead are routed correctly.
- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips, hooks, and Velcro fastener into place securely.
- Push the accelerator pedal into place securely, and after installing, make sure the accelerator pedal does not come off the floor by pulling it up.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Set the clock.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped), then enter the audio presets.
