Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program.

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend and scratch the headliner.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard and other interior trim.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Remove these items:
- A-pillar trim, both sides
- B-pillar upper trim, both sides
- C-pillar trim, both sides
- Rear map light
- Sunvisors, both sides
- Grab handles, four places

2. Remove the front individual map lights, and remove the bolts securing the roof console (A).

3. Release the clips (A, B), then remove the high mount brake light cover (C).

4. Remove the headliner (A).
1. Remove the front door opening trim (B) and rear door opening trim (C) from each roof portion.
2. Detach the clips (D), and release the Velcro fasteners (E) by pulling the front portion of the headliner down. Do not pull the headliner down too far, or the vanity mirror lights (F) will be damaged.
3. Disconnect the vanity mirror light connectors (G) from both sides, and the rear microphone connector (I).
4. With the help of an assistant, detach the rear clips (H) by pulling the headliner down.

5. Lower the front of the headliner (A) below the steering wheel. Rotate the liner, and pull it out through the passenger's front door. Do not bend the liner. Bending the liner will crease and damage it.

6. If necessary, detach the hooks (A), and remove the clip, then remove the roof console bracket (B).

7. Install the headliner in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If a side curtain airbag has deployed, replace the headliner related parts with new ones.
- To prevent the side curtain airbags from deploying improperly and possibly causing injury, inspect removed pieces and replace them if they have any of these types of damage:
- Any creases or tears in the headliner (A)
- Any Velcro fasteners (B) or clip bases (C) which have come off the headliner
- Any damage around the grab handle holes (D) or sunvisor holes (E) in the headliner
- Any deformations in the grab handles (F)
- Any cracks in the sunvisor stay bases (G)
- Any bends or cracks in the sunvisor stay shafts (H)
- Any cracks in the sunvisor bases (I)
- Any cracks in the vanity mirror bases (J)

- Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
- When reinstalling the headliner through the front passenger's door opening, be careful not to fold or bend it too much. Also, be careful not to scratch the body.
- Check that both sides of the headliner are securely attached to the trim.
- Check the overlap between the headliner and the trim pieces, and if necessary, adjust it.
- Do the moonroof calibration.
