Navigation Cannot Control Audio System
Navigation cannot control audio systemNOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first.
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Turn on the audio unit and check the audio system function.
Does the audio system function normally using the audio hard buttons and control knobs?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Refer to the audio system symptom troubleshooting index. Index, Symptom Troubleshooting
3. Check the navigation system function.
Do all other aspects of the navigation system function normally?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Refer to the symptom troubleshooting index for other problems the navigation system displays. Troubleshoot and resolve the other problems first then recheck the navigation systems ability to control the audio system.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Remove No. 5 (7.5 A) and No. 7 (7.5 A) fuses in the under-dash fuse/relay box for 10 minutes, then reinstall them. If necessary, enter the audio and/or navigation anti-theft code(s), then recheck the function.
Does the problem goes away?
YES - Software malfunction in the audio unit and/or navigation unit. System is OK at this time.
NO - Substitute a know-good navigation unit with the same software version. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original navigation unit. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio unit.
