Audio-HVAC Subdisplay Unit Does Not Work Properly
Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit does not work properlyNOTE:
- Always make sure that the correct DVD color and version are installed.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check and repair all CAN DTCs before doing this troubleshooting.
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II), then observe if the navigation system boots-up with the Acura Globe Screen.
YES - Go to step 2.
NO - See the navigation system symptom troubleshooting for The Honda Globe Screen appears every time the vehicle is started.
2. Operate the audio system.
Does the audio information display properly?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - See the audio system symptom troubleshooting for Audio system information does not display on the display panel or audio-HVAC subdisplay unit.
3. Operate the climate control system.
Does the climate information display properly?
YES - Check the connections at the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit, display panel control unit and audio unit. Then recheck the function.
NO - Go to step 4.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Disconnect audio-HVAC display panel connector C (10P) and the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector.
6. Check for continuity between audio-HVAC display panel connector C (10P) and the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Open in the wire(s). Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the audio-HVAC display panel and audio-HVAC subdisplay unit. If the connections are OK, replace the affected shielded harness.
7. Check for continuity between audio-HVAC display panel connector C (10P) and the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit connector according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Short in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO - Go to step 8.
8. Start the engine.
9. Measure the voltage between audio-HVAC display panel connector C (10P) and body ground according to the table.
Is there 0.1 V or more?
YES - Short in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO - Substitute these units one at a time, in the order listed with know-good units. Restest after each unit substitution. Replace the unit that resolves the problem:
- Audio-HVAC Subdisplay Unit
- Navigation Unit
- XM Receiver Unit
- Center Panel Control Unit
- Audio Unit
