Navigation Does Not Call Using the HFL
Navigation does not call using the HFLDiagnostic Test: Navi System Link
NOTE: The point of interest (POI) being dialed must have a phone number listed with it.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Make sure the cell phone is paired to the HFL and working properly.
Is the cell phone paired?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Pair the cell phone to the HFL and retry.
3. Go into the Diagnostic Mode and use the "Navi System Link" diagnostic.
Is the "HFL" icon red or flickering?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Go to step 9.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Disconnect navigation unit connector G (5P) and the HandsFreeLink control unit connector (22P).
6. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation unit connector G (5P) terminals No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES - Short to body ground in the wire(s) between HandsFreeLink control unit and navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO - Go to step 7.
7. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector G (5P) according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES - Short in the wire(s) between navigation unit and HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO - Go to step 8.
8. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector G (5P) and HandsFreeLink control unit 22P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 9.
NO - Open in the wire(s) between navigation unit and HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
9. Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit and retest.
Is the system OK?
YES - Replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit.
NO - Replace the navigation unit.
