Audio Remote Switch Does Not Work Properly

Audio remote switch does not work properly

NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition test.

1. Do the audio remote switch test.

Is the audio remote switch OK?

YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Replace the audio remote switch.

2. Remove the audio-HVAC display module.

NOTE: Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.

3. Measure the resistance between the audio unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 3 and No. 11 as specified in the table.






Is the resistance as specified?

YES - Go to step 4.

NO - Repair open or high resistance in the circuit between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel.

4. Check for continuity between body ground and the audio unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 3 and No. 11 individually.






Is there continuity?

YES - Repair short to body ground in the circuit between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel.

NO - Replace the audio unit.
