Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement

Removal ('06-08 models)

NOTE: Removal of the front passenger's weight sensors must be done according to Precautions and Procedures.

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait for 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the front passenger's seat assembly.
3. Remove the cushion cover/pad from the seat cushion frame.
4. Using the TORX T30 bit and T40 bit, remove the tamper-resistant TORX bolts (A) attaching the seat track (B) to the weight sensors (C).

5. Disconnect the sensor connectors (D) (3P), E (2P) from the ODS unit harness, then remove the front passenger's weight sensors.

Installation ('06-08 models)

NOTE:
- Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfere with other parts.
- Make sure both of the rivets (A) on the seat track are properly secured to the front bracket (B). If the hooks are not properly secured, the front passenger's weight sensors will not function properly.

1. Install the new front passenger's weight sensors with 6 mm TORX bolts (C) and 8 mm TORX bolts (D) under the seat track.

2. Tightening the TORX bolts, begin with the (1) and tighten them in criss-cross pattern in two or more steps.
3. Reassemble the front passenger's seat cushion cover/pad.
4. Reinstall the front passenger's seat.
5. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
6. Calibrate the ODS unit.
7. After installing the front passenger's weight sensors, confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch ON (II); the SRS indicator should come for about 6 seconds and then go off.
