DTC Troubleshooting: B1016
DTC B1016:
MICU Lost Communication With Keyless Access Unit (Panic Message)
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.
4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1016 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the MICU and keyless access control unit.�
5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTCs B1066 also indicated?
YES -
Do the keyless access control unit input test Keyless Access Control Unit Input Test/Replacement.�
NO -
Check for an open in the communication circuit between the MICU and the gauge control module. If the circuit is OK, Faulty MICU; replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box Drivers Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box (MICU) Removal/Installation. If the circuit is bad, repair the open.�
