DTC Troubleshooting: B1171
DTC B1171:
Lost Communication With ACC Control Unit (ACC Frame)
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Check for the DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1171 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the F-CAN communication line is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections. If the connections are good, check the battery condition Testing and Inspection and the charging system Alternator and Regulator Circuit Troubleshooting.�
4. Check for Adaptive Cruise Control System DTCs with the HDS.
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES -
Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting.�
NO -
Go to step 5.
5. Do the gauge control module input test Gauge Control Module Input Test.
Are all inputs OK?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Repair the faulty input, then recheck for DTCs.�
6. Substitute a known-good gauge control module.
7. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1171 indicated?
YES -
Substitute a known-good adaptive cruise control unit, and recheck.�
NO -
The original gauge control module is faulty; replace it Service and Repair.�
