DTC Troubleshooting: B1646

DTC B1646:

Driver Door Antenna Circuit Open

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

3. Select MODE MENU from the HDS, then enter SELF CHECK.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1646 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.�

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Disconnect keyless access control unit connector B (24P).

7. Disconnect the driver's door LF antenna 8P connector.

8. Connect driver's door LF antenna 8P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 7 to body ground with jumper wires.






9. Check for continuity between body ground and keyless access control unit connector B (24P) terminals No. 13 and No. 14 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 10.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.�

10. Remove the jumper wires from the driver's door LF antenna 8P connector. Reconnect keyless access control unit connector B (24P).

11. Connect the voltmeter between driver's door LF antenna 8P connector terminals No. 3 and No. 7.





12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

13. Select FUNCTION TEST from the HDS, and do DRIVER'S ANTENNA DC OUTPUT.

Is there voltage?

YES -

Faulty the driver's door LF antenna, replace the driver's door outer handle Service and Repair.�

NO -

Replace the keyless access control unit Keyless Access Control Unit Input Test/Replacement.�
