DTC Troubleshooting: B2131

DTC B2131:

Steering Angle Sensor Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B2131 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.�

4. Check for DTCs in the VSA system with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Go to the VSA indicated DTCs troubleshooting.�

NO -

Go to step 5.

5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1170 indicated?

YES -

Troubleshoot DTC B1170.�

NO -

Go to step 6.

6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B2105 indicated?

YES -

Troubleshoot DTC B2105.�

NO -

Replace the adaptive front lighting control unit Adaptive Front Lighting Control Unit Input Test/Replacement.�
