SH AWD DTC Troubleshooting: 12-1, 12-2, 12-3

DTC 12-1, 12-2, 12-3:

Lateral Acceleration Sensor Malfunction

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Test-drive the vehicle at 19 mph (30 km/h) or more.

4. Check for DTCs in the VSA system with the HDS.

Are any yaw rate-acceleration sensor DTCs indicated?

YES -

Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.�

NO -

Go to step 5.

5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 12-1, 12-2, or 12-3 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�

6. Park the vehicle on a level surface.

7. Compare the VOLTAGE OF LATERAL ACCELERATION SENSOR and the LATERAL ACCELERATION SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION DATA in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is there difference between those two within 0.2 V?

YES -

Replace the yaw rate-acceleration sensor Service and Repair.�

NO -

Do the yaw rate-acceleration neutral position memorization Testing and Inspection.�
