NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- This navigation DTC set when a communication error between the climate control unit and the navigation unit (open or short) is detected.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
- When the ignition switch is in ACCESSORY (I), the climate control unit is turned off. The navigation loses communication with the climate control unit and stores DTC 2703. Therefore, there is a possibility that the system is normal even though DTC 2703 is stored. Check System Links with the engine running, and if it appears OK, the system is OK at this time. If it is NG, do the troubleshooting.
1. Clear the hard error code.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then quickly back to ON (II).
3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu.
4. Check the System Links.
Is the A/C icon red?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
5. Do the self-diagnostic with the HDS or the climate control unit.
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES -
Repair the indicated DTCs.�
NO -
Go to step 6.
6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
7. Disconnect navigation unit connector B (32P).
8. Disconnect climate control unit connector B (12P).
9. Connect the climate control unit 40P connector terminal No. 6 to terminals No. 7, and No. 8 with jumper wires.
10. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals No. 20 and No. 4, and between terminals No. 20 and No. 21.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 11.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire(s) between the navigation unit and the climate control unit.�
11. Disconnect the jumper wires from the climate control unit 40P connector.
12. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals No. 4, No. 20, and No. 21 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation unit and the climate control unit.�
NO -
Go to step 13.
13. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
14. Measure the voltage between body ground and navigation unit connector B (32P) terminals No. 4, No. 20, and No. 21 individually.
Is there more than 0.2 V?
YES -
Repair a short to power in the wire(s) between the navigation unit and the climate control unit.�
NO -
Go to step 15.
15. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
16. Check for continuity between the terminal of navigation unit connector B (32P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short in the wire(s) between the navigation unit and the climate control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Check for loose wires or poor connections at the climate control unit 40P connector and at navigation unit connector B (32P). If the connections are good, substitute a known-good climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation. If the symptom/indication continues, substitute a known good navigation unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/ indication goes away, replace the original navigation unit Service and Repair.�
