Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2705
DTC 2705:
HFL Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the COMM BUS (open or short) or in the HandsFreeLink control unit.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
With AcuraLink
1. Clear the hard error code.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
4. Select the XM (HIP), then check the XM (HIP) System Links.
5. Check the System Links.
Are the XM (HIP). ECU and Navi icon red?
YES -
Go to DTC 2704 troubleshooting 2704.�
NO -
Go to step 6.
6. Check the XM (HIP) System Links.
Is the HFL icon red?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Connect the HDS to the DLC.
9. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
11. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are any HFL DTCs indicated?
YES -
Do the HFL DTC troubleshooting.�
NO -
Go to step 12.
12. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
13. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).
14. Check for continuity between the terminals of the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -
There is a short in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 15.
15. Check for continuity between body ground and HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminals No. 6, No. 7, No. 20, and No. 21 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to ground in the wire(s) between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) and the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.�
NO -
Go to step 16.
16. Check for continuity between the terminals of the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication does not go away, replace the navigation unit Service and Repair.�
NO -
There is an open in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.�
