Fuel Tank Unit Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Relieve the fuel pressure Service and Repair.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal / Installation.

3. Remove the access panel (A) from the left side of the floor.





4. Disconnect the fuel tank unit 5P connector (B).

5. Disconnect the quick-connect fitting (C) from the fuel tank unit.

6. Remove the fuel tank unit (A), and disconnect the transfer tube (B).

NOTE: If the fuel tank is full, drain the fuel Service and Repair.






Installation

1. Connect the transfer tube (A).





2. Install the fuel tank unit (B) in the reverse order of removal with a new base gasket (C).

3. Connect the fuel tank unit 5P connector (A), then connect the quick-connect fitting (B).





4. Install the fuel fill cap.

5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II) (but do not operate the starter motor). The fuel pump will run for about 2 seconds, and fuel pressure rises. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leaks.

6. Install the access panel (C).

7. Install the rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal / Installation.
