DTC Troubleshooting: B1377

DTC B1377:

Power Tailgate Inside Switch Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

3. Open the tailgate with the keyless transmitter.

4. Push the power tailgate inside switch for more than 2 seconds.

5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1377 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the power tailgate control unit and the power tailgate inside switch.�

6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

7. Disconnect the power tailgate inside switch 5P connector.

8. Disconnect power tailgate control unit connector C (14P).

9. Check for continuity between power tailgate control unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 8 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire.�

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Disconnect power tailgate control unit connector B (20P).

11. Check for continuity between power tailgate control unit connector B (20P) terminal No. 5 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire.�

NO -

Go to step 12.

12. Do the power tailgate inside switch test Inside Tailgate Switch Test/Replacement.

Is the switch OK?

YES -

Replace the power tailgate control unit Service and Repair.�

NO -

Replace the power tailgate inside switch Inside Tailgate Switch Test/Replacement.�
