Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2601
DTC 2601:
Display Diag: Connect
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- This navigation DTC sets when a mechanical malfunction in the navigation display is detected. sets when a GA-Net bus problem is detected (open or short), or an internal ECU BUS circuit problem is detected (open or short).
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
1. Clear the hard error code.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
4. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
6. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at these items:
- Audio-navigation unit connector C (14P)
- HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector
- AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) (with AcuraLink)
- XM receiver connector A (14P) (without AcuraLink)
- Navigation display unit 28P connector
Are the connections OK?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck the Self-Diagnosis Mode.�
7. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) and the navigation display unit 28P connector.
8. Connect audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminals No. 9 and No. 10 with a jumper wire.
9. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 28P connector terminals No. 21 and No. 22.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 10.
NO -
There is an open in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
10. Remove the jumper wire.
11. Disconnect these items:
- HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector
- AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) (with AcuraLink)
- XM receiver connector A (14P) (without AcuraLink)
12. Check for continuity between navigation display unit 28P connector terminals No. 21 and No. 22.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short in the wires between the navigation display unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 13.
13. Check for continuity between body ground and navigation display unit 28P connector terminals No. 21 and No. 22 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the navigation display unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 14.
14. Check for continuity between the terminals of the navigation display unit 28P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -
There is a short in wires between the navigation display unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 15.
15. Reconnect the all connectors.
16. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
17. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 18.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
18. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
19. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) (with AcuraLink) or XM receiver connector A (14P) (without AcuraLink).
20. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
21. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
22. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 23.
NO -
- With AcuraLink: Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver); Sedan, Sport Wagon.�
- Without AcuraLink: Replace the XM receiver.�
23. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
24. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.
25. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
26. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
27. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Go to step 28.
NO -
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�
28. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
29. Substitute a know-good navigation display unit Navigation Display Unit Removal/Installation.
30. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
31. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode.
32. Check the System Links.
Is the Display icon red?
YES -
Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.�
NO -
Replace the original navigation display unit Navigation Display Unit Removal/Installation.�
