Power Tailgate Control Unit Input Test/Replacement
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Remove the left cargo area side trim panel .
3. Disconnect power tailgate connector (A) from the power tailgate control unit (B).
NOTE: All connector views shown are the wire side of the female terminals
4. Disconnect power tailgate connector (C) from the power tailgate control unit.
5. Disconnect power tailgate connector (D) from the power tailgate control unit.
6. Inspect all the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 7.
7. Reconnect all connectors to the power tailgate control unit, and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, replace the power tailgate control unit.
NOTE: After replacement, open and close the tailgate by auto operation and wait for 5 seconds. Repeat this procedure 5 times or more for proper operation.
8. Reset the power tailgate control unit Programming and Relearning.
