Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Passenger's seat: Do not touch the OPDS sensor in the seat-back pad, and keep it away from oil. Oil can corrode the sensor causing it to fail.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- The driver's seat is shown; the passenger's seat is similar.

1. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the front seat recline cover Front Seat Recline Cover Removal/Installation.

3. From under the seat cushion, release the hooks on the elastic strap (A) for the seat cushion frame springs (B), then pull out the back panel undercover (C).






4. From under the seat cushion, disconnect and/or detach the connectors:

- Driver's seat:
- Side airbag connector (A)
- Recline motor harness connector (B)
- Seat-back heater connector (C)
- Seat cushion heater connector (D)
- Passenger's seat:
- Side airbag connector (A)
- Recline motor harness connector (B)
- Seat cushion heater connector (D)

5. Detach the harness clips (E), and remove the harness clamps (F).

6. Passenger's seat: Remove the back panel (A).

1. Remove the screws.

2. Release the hooks (B) by pulling back the bottom of the back panel.

3. Gently pull down the back panel to release the hooks (C) from the seat-back frame.





7. Passenger's seat: Release the hooks (A), then detach the clips from under the seat-back cover (B). Release the hook strips (C), then pull the bottom of the seat-back cover back.






8. Passenger's seat: Remove the ODS unit cover (A).

1. Turn over the seat-back cover (B) and the pad (C) as needed.

2. Release the cover from the lower hooks (D).

3. Pull the cover upward to release it from the upper hook (E).





9. Passenger's seat: Disconnect the ODS unit harness connector (F).

10. Passenger's seat: Detach the harness clip (A), then pull the ODS unit harness (B) in through a hole in the seat frame, and pull it out through the harness hole (C) in the seat-back cover (D).






11. Pull the side airbag harness (A) and the recline motor harness (B) on either of the seats, the seat-back heater harness (C) on the driver's seat, and the ODS unit harness (D) on the passenger's seat out through the loops (E).

12. Release the hook strips (A) from both sides of the seat cushion frame.






13. With driving position memory system: Disconnect the power seat control unit connectors (A), and remove the screws, then remove the power seat control unit (B).






14. Release the hook strips (A) from under the seat cushion.






15. Remove the seat cushion cover/pad (A) from the seat frame (B).






16. Release the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat cushion cover (B) and the undercover (C) on the seat cushion pad.






17. Pull back the edge of the seat cushion cover all the way around, and release the upholstery rings (A), then remove the seat cushion cover (B).






18. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- To prevent wrinkles when installing the seat cushion cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the upholstery rings and hook strips.
- Replace all of the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat cushion cover (B) to the pad wire (C) with new ones using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (D).
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
