3. Position the engine/transmission under the vehicle. Be sure that they are properly aligned. Carefully lower the vehicle until the engine/transmission are properly positioned in the engine compartment. Make sure the vehicle is not resting on any part of the engine/transmission. Support the engine/transmission with a chain hoist (A) and carefully raise the engine/transmission into place.

NOTE: Reinstall the mounting bolts/support nuts in the sequence given in the following steps. Failure to follow this sequence may cause excessive noise and vibration, and reduce engine mount life.

4. Install the new mounting bolts into the upper half of the side engine mount bracket. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

5. Tighten the new upper transmission mount bracket mounting bolts and nut to the specified torque, then install the harness clamp (A).

NOTE: If bolt (B) was removed by mistake during removal, the upper transmission mount bracket must be replaced as an assembly.

6. Lift and support the engine with the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) and the engine hanger balance bar (VSB02C000019). Attach the front arm (A) to the front cylinder head with a spacer (B) and a 10 x 1.25 mm bolt (C). Attach the rear arm (D) to the rear cylinder head with a spacer (E) and an 8 x 1.25 mm bolt (F).

7. Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the vehicle as shown, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the engine hanger balance bar. Tighten the wing nut (G) by hand, and lift and support the engine/transmission.

NOTE:

- Be careful when working around the windshield.
- Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.
- AAR-T1256 two sets required for stacking two cross section bars.

8. Remove the chain hoist, then raise the vehicle on the lift.

9. Attach the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) to the front subframe by looping the belt (A) over the front of the front subframe (B), then secure the belt with its stop (C).

10. Line up the slots in the subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the jack base, then securely attach them with four bolts, then raise the front subframe up to the body.

11. Loosely install the new front subframe mounting bolts (four) (A), the 12 x 1.25 mm bolts (two) (B), new bolts (two) (C), and the stiffeners (D).

12. Loosely install the new subframe middle mount bolts (A).

13. Loosely tighten the right-rear subframe mounting bolt (A) and the right-rear stiffener mounting bolt (B); insert the subframe alignment pin through the positioning slot (C) on the rear stiffener, through the positioning hole (D) on the subframe, and into the positioning hole (E) on the body, then tighten the subframe mounting bolt.

14. Loosely tighten the left-rear subframe mounting bolt and the new left-rear stiffener mounting bolt using the same procedure as the right-rear with the subframe alignment pin.

15. Loosely tighten the subframe mounting bolt (A) and the stiffener mounting bolt (B) on both sides to the front stiffener.

16. Tighten the right-rear subframe mounting bolt (A) to the specified torque.

17. Tighten the left-rear subframe mounting bolt (B) to the specified torque.

18. Tighten the front subframe mounting bolts (C) to the specified torque.

NOTE: Check all of the subframe mounting bolts, and retighten if necessary.

19. Tighten the front stiffener mounting bolts (D) and the rear stiffener mounting bolts (E) to the specified torque.

NOTE: Before tightening the stiffener mounting bolts, check that the positioning holes and slot are aligned using the subframe alignment pin.

20. Remove the transmission jack and the subframe adapter.

21. Tighten the bolts securing the subframe middle mount.

22. Tighten the bolts securing the lower transmission mount.

23. Remove the vinyl tape, then connect the EPS subharness 6P connector (A).

24. Connect the ground cable connector at the front of the front subframe.

25. Lower the vehicle on the lift.

26. Remove the engine support hanger and the engine hanger balance bar.

27. Remove the vinyl tape, then connect the EPS motor 3P connector (A) by lock up the lever (B).

28. Connector the EPS motor angle sensor 6P connector (C).

29. Tighten the new rear engine mount bolt (A), then install the rear engine mount stop (B).

30. Tighten the new front engine mount bolt (A), then install the front engine mount stop (B) using new nuts and connect the vacuum hose (C).

31. Loosen the mounting bolts for the upper half of the side engine mount bracket, then retighten the bolts in the numbered sequence shown.

32. Loosen the mounting bolts and nut for the upper transmission mount bracket, then retighten them to the specified torque.

33. Install the connector bracket (A) to the front cylinder head.
