Active Damper System DTC Troubleshooting: 3-4

DTC 3-4:

Wheel Speed Signal Malfunction (From VSA Modulator-Control Unit by F-CAN)

NOTE: If DTC 8-6 is stored at the same time as DTC 3-4, troubleshoot DTC 8-6 first, then recheck for DTC 3-4.

1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

4. Test-drive the vehicle around corners at 9 mph(15 km/h) or more.

5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 3-4 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor or loose connections between the VSA modulator-control unit and the active damper control unit.�

6. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Is any DTCs indicated?

YES -

Go to the indicated VSA system DTCs troubleshooting.�

NO -

Go to step 7.

7. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

8. Substitute a known-good active damper control unit Service and Repair.

9. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

10. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

11. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

12. Test-drive the vehicle around corners at 9 mph(15 km/h) or more.

13. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC 3-4 indicated?

YES -

Update the VSA modulator-control unit if it does not have the latest software Testing and Inspection, or substitute a known-good VSA modulator-control unit Service and Repair, then go to step 1 and recheck. If the VSA modulator-control unit was updated and DTCs are not indicated, troubleshooting is complete. If the VSA modulator-control unit was substituted and DTCs are not indicated, replace the original VSA modulator-control unit Service and Repair.�

NO -

Replace the original active damper control unit Service and Repair.�
