Rear Seat Removal/Installation

Seat Cushion

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.

1. Fold the right rear seat-back forward.

2. Pull back the front area of the seat flap assembly (A), then remove the nut securing the cushion from behind the rear seat-back.






3. Remove the seat cushion (A).

1. Pull up each front edge of the seat cushion to release the hooks (B).

2. With rear seat cushion heater: Disconnect the seat cushion heater connectors (C).





4. Install the seat cushion (A) in the reverse order of removal. When installing the seat cushion, first install the seat belt buckles (B) into the slits (C) in the seat cushion.






Seat Side Bolster

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.

1. Remove the seat cushion.

2. Remove the bolt securing the seat side bolster (A).






3. Lift up the seat side bolster (A) to detach the clip, and release the hook (B), then remove the seat side bolster.





4. Install the seat side bolster in the reverse order of removal, and push the clip and the hook into place securely.

Seat-Back

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.

1. Remove the seat cushion.

2. Fold only the right rear seat-back forward.

3. Pull back the front area of the seat flap assembly (A), and pull back the seat-back cover (B) to detach the clip, then remove the bolts.






4. Pull the right rear seat-back (A) to release the pivot shaft (B), then remove the seat-back.






5. Remove the center lower anchor bolt (A).






6. Remove the bolt and the right center pivot bracket (A).





7. If necessary, remove the bushing (B) from the pivot bracket.

8. If necessary, detach the clip to remove the right center pivot bracket cover (A) from the right center pivot bracket (B).






9. Remove the left seat-back (A).

1. Fold the left rear seat-back forward.

2. Pull back the front area of the seat flap assembly (B).

3. Pull the seat-back to release the pivot shaft (C).





10. If necessary, remove the bushing (A) of the left seat-back (B).






11. Install the seat-back in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure there are no twists or kinks in the center seat belt before attaching the rear seat-back.
- Push the clip into place securely.

Seat-Back Bracket

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.

1. Remove the seat-backs.

2. Remove the bushing (A) of the center seat-back bracket (B).






3. If necessary, detach the clip to remove the center seat-back bracket cover (A).






4. Remove the bolts and the center seat-back bracket (A).






5. Remove the bushing (A) of the side seat-back bracket (B). The left side bracket is shown; the right side bracket is similar.






6. Remove the bolts and the seat-back bracket (A).






7. Install the seat-back bracket in the reverse order of removal.
