Dashboard Replacement

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:

- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body, or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

2. Remove these items from the dashboard:

- A-pillar trims, both sides
- Driver's outer dashboard trim Driver's Outer Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Driver's inner dashboard trim Driver's Inner Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Instrument fascia Instrument Fascia Removal/Installation
- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Steering column Steering Column Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard trim Passenger's Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard trim panel Passenger's Dashboard Trim Panel Removal/Installation
- Dashboard side vents Service and Repair
- Glove box Glove Box Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation

Driver's Side

3. Detach the harness clip (A) from between the A-pillar and the dashboard.






Center

4. From the front of the dashboard, release the harness clip (A).






Passenger's Side

5. Disconnect the roof wire harness connector (A) and the antenna read connector (B), and detach the harness clip (C).






6. Remove the bolts (A) and screws (B) securing the dashboard (C).






7. Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.

NOTE: Do not rest the dashboard on its lower center cover opening, or it may be damaged. Lay it on its front or back.






8. Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched before tightening the bolts.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
