Rear Lower Arm B Removal/Installation
1. Raise and support the vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the rear wheel.
3. Remove the flange nut (A) while holding the joint pin (C) with a hex wrench (D), and disconnect the stabilizer link (E) from lower arm B.
4. Position a floor jack under lower arm B. Raise the floor jack until the suspension begins to compress.
5. Remove the flange bolt (A) from the bottom of the damper.
NOTE: Use the new flange bolt during reassembly.
6. Remove the flange bolt (C) from the knuckle.
NOTE: Use the new flange bolt during reassembly.
7. Lower the floor jack gradually.
8. Remove the spring (A) and the lower spring seat (C).
NOTE: During installation, align the bottom of the spring with the stepped part of the lower spring seat and lower arm B as shown.
9. Mark the cam positions of the adjusting bolt (A) and the adjusting cam plate (C) with the frame.
10. Remove the self-locking nut (D) while holding the adjusting bolt, then remove the adjusting cam plate, the adjusting bolt, and lower arm B.
NOTE: Use a new adjusting bolt and a new self-locking nut during reassembly.
11. Install lower arm B in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- First install all of the suspension components, and lightly tighten the bolts and the nuts, then raise the suspension to load it with the vehicle's weight before fully tightening to the specified torque.
- Align the cam positions of the adjusting bolt and the adjusting cam plate with the marked positions on the frame when tightening the self-locking nut.
- Before installing the wheel, clean the mating surfaces between the brake disc/drum and the inside of the wheel.
12. Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if necessary Service and Repair.
